The debate over whether corporations are persons and whether corporations have a right to free speech and whether or not political campaign contributions are a form of free speech has been argued endlessly. The Supreme Court has in the past ruled affirmatively on all of the above. This concerns many people, but is this really the most critical area of concern?
Do corporations sometimes use their resources to unfairly compete with the political voices of individual constituents? Of course they do. Does this unfairness constitute a legitimate problem by unbalancing the representational playing field within a Constitutional Republic? I believe it does. The problem, however, lies not in problem identification, but with mistakenly arriving at a cure having worse side effects than the disease.
Suggesting as McCain-Feingold did that the solution is to selectively and discriminately curb free speech is to go down a treacherously steep and slippery trail. This constitution shredding cure is for certain much worse than the disease. The Supreme Court was absolutely correct in its recent ruling although there may be legitimate questions as to scope. I’m not a constitutional attorney so I’ll leave that determination to others.
However, from a common sense viewpoint, as a citizen, the problem is not so much that corporations have a right to free speech and that they may be abusive regarding this right. The root problem is that corrupt elected officials routinely violate their oaths of office by freely and gratuitously accepting graft in payment for their assumed positions on various issues. This lack of integrity automatically trains and conditions corporate managers and lobbyists to believe that inappropriate behavior will generally be rewarded with special treatment and as such is a good investment. How or why should they conclude otherwise?
These adopted quid pro quo positions of elected officials are entirely the fault of these same elected representatives. They are not bound by law to accept gifts nor to cater to lobbyists. Quite the contrary. In fact, if elected representatives had the back bone to say no to inappropriate requests, the corporations would quickly learn to invest their capital elsewhere. An elected representative at any level; city, county, state or federal has a direct responsibility to “we the people”, fiduciary and otherwise. This includes corporations, which also require access and have a right to representation. It does not, however, include graft, gifts and contributions in exchange for favoritism.
A knowledgeable lobbyist representing an industry has a right to represent their client and to have access to elected officials. Elected officials have the duty and responsibility to say NO when such a lobbyist or anyone else crosses the line. It is not and never will be possible to monitor every breath an official takes; and who would want to?
It is the responsibility of the elected representative to conduct his or her self in a proper and appropriate manner. A manner that can never include accepting gifts for any reason. Period. Any politician who cannot grasp and live up to this simple fact is not fit to hold office or to represent the people’s interests at any level. There are basically two reasons the voter does not hold elected representatives accountable and responsible.
The first is lack of transparency. The voter cannot know what’s going on behind closed doors. The second is apathy. All campaign contributions in any form must be made public information. This includes baseball tickets, plane rides, dinners, liquor, vacations, etc. If the voter remains apathetic in the face of this information; well then you get what you vote for.
A more important area of focus is not the corporations themselves, but the interlocking foundations and think tanks standing out of site behind them and below them. This is the most serious threat both to correct information, representational accountability and to the strength of our Constitutional Republic itself. It is also what brings us to The Logan Act, which most of us have never heard of. Funny how the core of the problem is never openly discussed.
The so-called Logan Act, that is, U.S. Code, Title 18, Part 1, Chapter 45
§ 953. Private correspondence with foreign governments
Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply, himself or his agent, to any foreign government or the agents thereof for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects.
…was passed in 1799 and is a federal statute making it a crime for any citizen to confer with foreign governments against the interests of the United States. Specifically, it prohibits citizens from negotiating with other nations on behalf of the United States without authorization.
To my limited knowledge there has never been a conviction resulting from a violation of this act. I find two things significant. The first is that this act was thought to be important enough for the Founders to pass it just a dozen or so years following the Constitutional Convention. The second is that it has been routinely and flagrantly violated by many U.S. members of the Trilateral Commission, the Bilderberg Group and well connected others. Members of these groups routinely engage in non-authorized discussions regarding U.S. financial and economic policy and foreign policy with highly placed foreign nationals in open violation of U.S. law.
These two groups by their own admission openly operate in opposition to the U.S. Constitution and in fact are dedicated to undermining our Constitutional Republic and American sovereignty in favor of an international One World or Global governance system. David Rockefeller, founder of the Trilateral Commission (TC), founded in 1973 states candidly on page 405 of his personal Memoirs:
“Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as “internationalists” and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure – one world, if you will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.”
Not only proud of it, but openly, brazenly and gratuitously in violation of the U.S. Rule of Law and interests. Simply put, a traitor to his people by his own admission – just one among many. How do David Rockefeller and his ruthlessly heinous friends accomplish this? Again simply put, he and his international cabal own our politicians via financial contributions, desire for upward career mobility and fear of the press, which they also own. More importantly, control is subtly exercised through group motivational techniques and misinformation studied and developed by the Tavistock Institute in London; passed on through financier controlled foundations and think tanks most of which are then coordinated within the U.S. through the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and finally are widely disseminated through the press, our schools, universities and scientific community. This has been effectively going on for many decades and we are now realizing the pernicious results. Many lies are finally accepted as fact after being heard often enough. This is simple conditioning taught in Psych 101.
A sad majority of Americans today including so-called conservatives claim to have a positive view of socialism. Why? Because we have been propagandized at least since the early 1900’s with these destructive ideas. I have personally held in my hands, pamphlets copyrighted 1920, published by the Communist Party of the United States of America (CPUSA) clearly outlining techniques for quietly infiltrating U.S. city, county, state and federal government; along with school districts, publishing houses, text book publishers, newspapers, professional associations, various social groups and societies, etc. As we look around today it is clear that these pamphlets have borne much fruit.
Marxism, Communism, Socialism, Progressivism – call it what you will is bad because it is the primary tool of global financiers used to control political leaders, government, people and thereby wealth. Socialism is not intended to share wealth as promised to the gullible unwashed. Its only purpose is to enable control of all wealth by the washed.
This control requires the philosophical, emotional and real elimination of individual freedom. Therefore any religion such as Christianity promoting “free will” or any governmental system such as our U.S. Constitutional Republic based on unalienable rights, or any thought system promoting liberty – must be destroyed.
The tool of choice for this societal destruction is chaos. The peace movement, drug culture, environmental movement, feminism, gay rights, racism and political correctness in general all serve the same end. That end is the destruction of the family unit, the destruction of moral guide posts, the weakening of the individual morally, spiritually, emotionally and intellectually, the division of society into disparate groups set at odds with one another even onto outright hatred and ultimately the collapse of western civilization along with any trace of freedom inspiring systems such as Constitutional Republics.
The origin of this tool and its appurtenances is the Tavistock Institute. It is from here that internationally financed misinformation, delusion and chaos is developed and spread like a bacterial infection through all aspects of decent society. Do you really believe that our teachers are so stupid and so incompetent that they cannot teach our kids to pass any kind of rigorous test? Do you believe that your own child, whom you know so well, is incapable of learning? Of course not. This is preposterous; yet this is precisely the state of American education today and in spite of massive amounts of financial investment it’s growing worse not better. Why? Because our teachers and students have become trapped within an overall system that is specifically and carefully designed to fail.
Many years ago dedicated Communists like Herbert Marcuse, John Dewey and many others began dumbing down our educational system as best they could. This began in the twenties and thirties. They cruelly developed and marketed hopelessly futile educational theories and curriculum plans to gullible, naïve academics and thereby successfully implemented failure throughout all levels of our educational system. They successfully converted one of the finest educational systems in the world to a propagandizing socialization system fit for not much more than mind numbing sports and drug induced babysitting. We have voted for it every step of the way.
Their early pioneering destructive efforts were later refined and more fully developed by the well funded Tavistock Institute; then packaged, marketed and sold by downstream foundations such as Rockefeller, Ford and Carnegie; and finally were and are popularized and disseminated to the press, universities and schools via such popular and respected think tanks as Heritage and the Brookings Institute. Are these entities all bad? Of course not. They’re largely good, but that doesn’t mean they are not susceptible to spreading destructive ideas that sound good. All entities are run by humans and humans are susceptible to conditioning whether they acknowledge that fact or not. The brightest among us are frequently not so bright.
The cumulative result of nearly 100-years of societal conditioning is a population that thinks the U.S. is composed of 57 states and that carbon dioxide, a necessary ingredient for life is destroying the planet. Our increasingly hapless population is now controlled by an inept government whose employees believe that borrowing and spending countless billions of tax dollars rudely checking my 92-year old, Caucasian grandmother’s shoes at the airport will protect the United States from further attack by a 25-year old, bearded, Islamic Muslim. Our inept government is now controlled by wealthy international financiers who wish it to be inept; and that is why in spite of our protestations it remains inept. It is too big to succeed. Think States Rights as the cure.
The failure of our educational system; the failure of our government; the financial crash of 2008 and the worse crash to come is not accidental. It is not random. It is well planned and fully intentional and the world’s inhuman elite will have their way with us if we do not learn to say NO; and soon. The only power the elite has over you, me and our children is our indoctrinated, conditioned desire to say yes.
For starters perhaps we should suggest to our Congressman, Senators and anyone else not prone to listen that the Logan Act be enforced. Enforcement of the Logan Act along with dissolution of our central bank, the criminally insane Federal Reserve System would solve our problems in education, finance and war without spending a dime of your children’s future birthright. In fact, your children would actually have a birthright – which today – they do not.
Our problem is not differences between Democrats and Republicans. The issue is not whether Barack Obama is capable of speech without a teleprompter or whether Sarah Palin writes notes on her hand. These are intentional distractions. Our problem is the lack of truth and correct information coupled with the human imperfection of greed and the inability to say NO when NO is the only obvious answer.
For my part; the answer is NO. What is your answer? It makes a difference.
